Artwork Setup Guide

A step by step artwork setup guide for designing your bollard covers

Step 1. Get The Right Resources

Before starting any bollard design plans, make the most of the resources available to you. Head over to our Templates page and choose your perfect shape and size for your bollard covers. Then, check out our Design Tips and Gallery to get some ideas before commencing your creation! Finally, read our artwork setup guide here, before starting any bollard protectors designing.

Step 2. Set Up Your Programme Correctly

Ensure your design software is set to CMYK not RGB, as this will more accurately reflect the finished colours. If you choose to use Adobe Photoshop or a similar image editing software check that the resolution is at least 300dpi – this will keep your print clear and unpixellated.

Step 3. Design

When designing, make sure to leave a 3mm bleed area around the edges of your artwork – this will ensure the safety of your design elements. Embed any fonts and make sure any images that are inserted are also 300dpi or higher resolution. Remember you can create different designs for each side of your covers, so triangular bollard covers can have 3 designs, slip on covers 2 and square covers 4. However, if you’d prefer to have the same design on all panels, no problem, just create the one.

Step 4. Save

Once you have final designs, double check everything before saving your final files. Print-ready PDFs are preferred but we can accept all the industry standard file types including Adobe Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.

Before your final save, make sure you’ve proofread any text, checked the resolution and are happy with your design. Whatever is sent is printed, so ensure that you have it just the way you want it.

Step 5. Send

Upload your design at the checkout stage or you can send it to us (Sales@BollardCover.co.uk) via WeTransfer, Dropbox, Drive or other file sharing methods.

If you’d prefer to leave the design to the professionals, take a look at our in-house design services. Our team of graphic designers will create your artwork from scratch and ensure it’s print-ready and to your specifications.
